Almost the End Very Sad

"Don't forget  no one sees the world the way you do  so no one else can tell the stories that you have to tell." Charles De Lint This week like every week I learned more tools to become a better writer. I enjoy writing it has become another hobby of mine. I am leaving my fears at the door sort a speak. Learning this week's tools will be helpful as a start this new journey. I believe the reason we were taught about autobiographical is to learn to write our stories. This week I was consumed by my essay and the fear of writing a peer review. Somehow I still get nervous not want to hurt anyone. I want to learn to use all the concepts I learned in the last 15 weeks but I think it will take practice.   Writing tools have become a favorite thing. Writing my essay 3 draft I tried to read all of the information I was taught some still didn't stick. I love the fact I had the learning center to help. and Jonny of course.   Learning to write my story is a big lif...

What a week

“Sometimes it's easy to walk by because we know we can't change someone's whole life in a single afternoon. But what we fail to realize it that simple kindness can go a long way toward encouraging someone who is stuck in a desolate place.” ―  Mike Yankoski   What a week I had. My head felt as though it could explode. this week Kairos the hidden appeal using Covid and the war was the key in my writing and understanding 'So What who cares.'    What does it matter? I tried to put everything I was taught this term on one paper.     I know it was a draft, but I tried ridiculously hard to make it great>>>> I learned this term I am a great writer, and if I had a little more time, I could be a pro!     (Laughing )     All the things I have learned in the last 14 weeks are unbelievably valuable as I continue my education. I wish I had more time in your class Jonny. You have mastered the English thing, and the way yo...

Using my brain to succeed

“It would behoove you to have your  thesis  finely tuned and the logical arguments utilized in support of it tightly woven into a credible, and creatively persuasive tapestry.” ― R. Alan Woods, My week was long. Learning is fun but sometimes it takes longer to write correctly. This week I learned the pros and cons of counterpoints. how to write a refutation. I watched many videos this week so I understood how to do my assignment. Jonny did an excellent job with his lectures, but I like to see how it would be live on YouTube. The assignment this week will help me in the future to help me focus on my essays.  I found the assignment was easier to understand using my peers.  I had never heard of the word  refutation  NOUN the action of proving a statement or theory to be wrong or false: "scientific theory is always tentative, open to refutation" ·  "he fails to give a clear refutation of the argument" Using the word for my argument against a counter...

Finish what you start! then breathe.

" What is not started shall never be finished"  Johann Wolfgang   This week was very difficult. I let my perfection get the better of me. I want to say, I am at a loss for words but I can't say this it was the opposite all week. The words kept coming. I could not stop my thoughts. I wanted to explain myself clearly, but I kept changing what I wanted to say.  I ended up writing a 10 page story about what it is like to be myself, for the first time in my life. I call it "self."  This story was still not enough for me. I had another story idea about teenage runaways and the homeless on the streets.  I then wrote yet another called Addiction of Drama. Why can I write so much? I never could before.  I took a break from my assignment in English for a day, then wrote what I thought the assignment should be.  I am learning to become an insider in writing this term. I am far from perfect I will earn as much as I can. Someday my book of all my adventures w...

Great week

"I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day, and I believe in miracles." — Audrey Hepburn I had a great week.  I accomplished a computer secret of a snapshot. After years on the computer and Thinking, I have mastered my keyboard seems as though I have more to learn to function efficiently.  I believe we have been discussing this week's view to make us better at communicating as we learn to respond to a disagreement and use our own words not to get others upset.   I never knew you could respond politely to someone while getting your ideas across. I think I will use this idea of disagreeing without disagreeing to my advantage in family discussions. These ideas I have learned this week will follow me in my journey to become more educated and learn to communicate with hostile people.  Was the content of this week's class clear and organized? This...

Three Greek words to keep in mind!

Image
Aristotle writes that persuasion is based on three things: the ethos, or personal character of the speaker; the pathos, or getting the audience into the right kind of emotional receptivity; and the logos, or the argument itself, carried out by abbreviated syllogisms, or something like deductive syllogisms, and by the use of example. —  Randal Marlin This was incredibly stressful, I had to rush through it. I did learn about the appeal of writing, Logos, Ethos, and Pathos. I need to get some help on this eventually. I think as a writer you really need to know which way to write something to reach the audience. I see that using the appeal of Logos, Pathos, and ethos we can write to anyone using the same story. This writing can be unbelievably valuable in the future. The assignments so far have been clear and highly organized. I did have a problem this week with some things. The assignments are getting a lot harder and more of them. Some things like the appeals. I could use a l...

This Weeks Lesson, My Age is Showing In My Writing.

" Even if individual researchers are prone to falling in love with their own theories, the broader process of peer review and institutionalized skepticism are designed to ensure that, eventually, the best ideas prevail.   " Chris Mooney Peer reviews helped me to see the lower levels of my writing skills.  Peer review allows me to share my writing and get feedback to perfect my writing.  The feedback I get will help me revise my paper in a shorter time frame; therefore, It will cut down the time I write. This will allow me to utilize my time on other learning abilities I can perfect, such as vocabulary.  Why do you think we're discussing this idea? This week we were discussing peer review. It is helping me see that I can learn faster to write a perfect paper.  How might these ideas be applicable in future writing (both in and out of class)? I think that peer review or any review that I get from my writing will benefit me in the future. Finding someone will ...
